Continuing our LBD styling tour, it’s time to make a stop in the 90s. This is a great way to style your LBD if your style is a bit more edgy vs. classic. It’s also insanely easy and cheap. Do you have a piece of ribbon? You’re half way there.
The CHOKER is the staple of this look. If you haven’t tried it, it’s time you tried it. You can purchase, or better yet, make one. It is literally one of the easiest DIY projects. Here is a great tutorial by the elegant Irene van Guin. Ooor you could just tie a piece lace, a leather string, or a piece of fabric around your neck like I do. Depending on your choker of choice you can go big or small on the earrings. Just make sure your accessories don’t compete with one another.
MULES are back…and still missing a back. They’re another great nod to the decade that gave us The Spice Girls. We don’t have any mules in The Hunt Shop inventory, but here’s a great pair from another seller on Tradesy. We also have a thing for these and these.
Try a HIGH PONY for a girly look – think Ariana Grande. If you prefer your hair down (or you need to cover up the back of your DIY choker), try a middle part and textured hair pictured here by Asos. A low bun shown here by Man Repeller would also look great.
An OVERSIZED WOOL COAT finishes the look. I’m not even going to include a link to a new one, because your local thrift store is legit full of these. Just last week we hunted this uber cool wool and cashmere one. Helen and I are currently negotiating custody.
You’re ready to hang with the cool kids.
